FAQ
Where are you located?
Littlewoods Tent is located along Myra Rd in Porters Lake, Nova Scotia. We are 40 minutes from Downtown Halifax, 25 minutes from Downtown Dartmouth, 15 minutes from beaches and cafes, 5 minutes from hiking trials.
Is the tent private?
Yes, the tent is private and surrounded by trees. The main house is located around 60 ft from the tent. We are separated by a large section of trees, so you don't see the owners. Guests will share a parking with the owners but that is it.
What amenities do you offer?
Littlewoods is fully powered, you can charge phones and devices no problem. There is also a mini fridge, an outdoor shower providing hot water, a compost toilet, queen bed, kitchenette and fire pit.
Pet friendly?
Yes, we are a pet friendly accommodation. For an extra $10 per booking you can bring your pet. The owners have a very friendly dog named Islay (I-la), if your dog is not so friendly with other dogs, to let the owners know and they'll ensure Islay doesn't pay a visit.
Is there heating in the tent?
The tent doesn't have heating, however there is a heated mattress provided for the cooler months, plenty of blankets and a warm duvet. There is also hot water in the outdoor shower to enjoy and a cozy fire pit to sit around.
It is recommended that guests pack accordingly as you are still essentially camping.
Can we get firewood?
Yes, we can provide firewood for you. It is available as an add on for $10 per bundle when creating the booking.
Is there wifi?
There is no wifi available at the tent, however, cell phone service is easily available.
Can we bring kids?
Yes, you can bring little ones free of charge. However, please be aware that there isn't much space. The tent can be arranged to accommodate a small foamy mattress, perfect for two small kids.
Are bugs an issue?
Generally, no. We've had over 120 bookings at Littlewoods and very little has been said about bugs. It is wise to bring some bug spray with you, as typically in the summer months, the dawn and dusk periods can be a little buggy with mosquitoes. There is netting on all the windows and doors, so bugs can't enter the tent. The lake is close by, but not close enough to be an issue for bugs.
